Counseling Solutions has a long-standing relationship with Children's Services Division to provide services to parents who have had their children detained and placed into Foster Care. We provide Group Counseling, Parenting Classes & Individual Counseling. The first group that parents attend and participate in is the Parent Support Group. This 8 week program was designed by and originally implemented by Counseling Solutions' Clinical Supervisors/Program Manager and Administrator Trishanne Lininger and Courtney Calkins. The topics covered during the 8 week long group are:

  • Goals

After successful graduation of the Parent Support Group, parents are then enrolled and participate in a 16 week Parenting Class. This class utilizes the Evidence Based curriculum of "Nurturing Parenting". There are a variety of topics taught and are often tailored to the needs of the participants, and generally covers such topics as:

Counseling Solutions provides individual counseling for parents who can benefit from one to one sessions with a therapist. If a need the need for individual counseling is identified a referral for services can be made by either the client, a Children's Services Social Worker, Foster Family Agency Social Worker or one of the Group Leaders, a referral is completed for individual counseling. After the counseling services are authorized, a therapist is matched with the needs of the client is chosen (with each client's input) and an assessment session is scheduled with the client. Following the completion of assessment, the client is counseled for 12 additional sessions.
